ARTINFO - The Metropolitan Museum of Art has announced that the 2011 edition of its tony "Met Ball" — as Vogue's annual Costume Institute Gala at the museum is known — will take as its inspiration the work of the late British designer Alexander McQueen, an art collector himself whose gilt-and-brocade final collection was inspired by Old Master paintings.
