Cate Blanchett Joins "The Hobbit"

Signing up for what’s sure to be a hit flick, Cate Blanchett will be reprising her role as Galadriel in Peter Jackson’s adaptation of J.R.R Tolkien’s “The Hobbit.”
The casting comes as a bit of a surprise, however, as Galadriel doesn’t actually appear in Tolkein’s novel, but perhaps Jackson is looking to balance out the male/female ratio.
Blanchett’s role is that of the ethereal elf that she played in Peter’s “Lord of the Rings” trilogy.
