Cavalli Goes to Chechnya

According to Russia Today, Roberto Cavalli is planning on taking a quick jaunt over to Chechnya to visit the first fashion design studio in Grozny, the Chechen capital. The studio was created by Laura and Medni Arzhiev, sisters and former students of Russian designer Vyacheslav Zaitsev. The project has been approved by the President of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov. The studio, not surprisingly, is creating quite the buzz, as the study of high fashion in the country’s capital is so anomalous. Cavalli, of course, is hopping on board with the iconoclastic idea and is expected to make an appearance.
