Where were you when you found out? Who were you with?
I was at the CFDA meeting! I didn’t know what to say. I felt great! Surprised! Genuinely, Wow!
Who will you bring to the awards gala this year?
We haven’t decided yet. That’s coming. Tom Murry will be at the table, and we have a few people in the works.
You’ve already won one to much fanfare. What have you learned since?
A whole lot! That was a very good recognition for me, and I think it helped the company. Now we’ve got Calvin Klein Collection back in-house, and inevitably that excited the company to have somebody working here get this recognition from the industry. It was cool. So since then, we’ve been working really hard to get the collection together with a great backup in the business. We learned that it could be done. Now this nomination validates the great work we have just done in order to get us back in house.
Where do you keep your first statue?
It’s in front of my bed, on a shelf.
Is Calvin Klein Collection riding its highest wave?
I think so. I think the whole company is. And I think, again, whether we win or not, it’s been a winning situation for us. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the press. The support we get is phenomenal and amazing.
