The Chic Set Heads South…

The downtown chic set is flocking to Southside, the newly revamped subterranean lounge below preppy hangout Bar Martignetti. Anne Hathaway and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld have both celebrated their birthdays at the burgeoning hotspot, while cast members from Gossip Girl have been known to swill champagne with socials like Byrdie Bell and Stavros Niarchos in the lounge’s luxe leather banquettes. The setup mimics an underground oasis (with echoes of Bungalow 8), complete with black bamboo wainscoting, rich chestnut wood tables lined with antique brass and plush evergreen banquettes. Last weekend, Chic Report stopped by and gave its stamp of approval before heading to neighboring La Esquina for some delectable late-night tacos.
