Fargo Fixates: Windows Edition!

There are very few experiences like the ones Bergdorf Goodman offers around holiday time. Last night, Chic Report accosted the Flawless Fargo (Linda, that is) at the American Accessories book party in the store’s cafe. What we wanted: The scoop on Bergdorf’s holiday windows (plus Fargo’s Tom Binns necklace). “What makes our windows unique is that everything is designed and made in-house,” said Fargo, who now oversees the window design but executed them herself for many years. “I swear, we have an amazing group of artists. They make you think, ‘How on earth did they do that?’ You’ve never seen such intricacy.” As for the sourcing of the notoriously unusual offerings that crop up alongside the Lanvin? “We spend a lot of time on Ebay,” Fargo confessed. “It’s our secret resource. The team spent weeks looking for the white porcelain china, dolls and birds that will figure into the windows this season.” As if Chic needed another reason to frequent the store with more regularity than our jaunts to Chiquinox. On the way out, we couldn’t help but notice that loads of delish designer merch is already 40 percent off–including some Valentino bags worth your attention. Time to dust off that AmEx…
