We always knew that Francisco Costa was eloquent, but it seems he feels even more comfortable chatting while in his home country. The Calvin Klein Collection maestro recently returned home to Rio for a January story with W, while giving the magazine a full-throttle tour and producing few brilliant quotes in the process.
Costa on his friend Marcello calling him out on his sexuality: “He’s actually the first one who told me, ‘You’re gay, you’re definitely gay.’ And I said, ‘No, I’m not gay.’ He said ‘Okay, you’re Mother Theresa.”
On his experience riding public buses in Rio: “It’s so tight and on Sundays everyone’s in a bathing suit. They go superfast. It’s a very interesting ride, let’s put it that way.”
On Rio culture: “People don’t really go to museums in Rio. I shouldn’t say it’s not sophisticated, but you know, they go to the beach.”
