Is Gwyneth Paltrow the Next Great Junketeer?

Tagged:  •    •

When Gwyneth Paltrow left her family behind over the Thanksgiving holiday to hit up the opening of a Moroccan hotel named La Mamounia, Chic was somewhat confused. There were other celebrities at the over-the top event, but the ones who weren’t hopelessly single came avec arm candy.  But now that we’ve read today’s GOOP, it all makes sense: Gwyneth was simply reporting for her ”lifestyle project.” “I just took a very impromptu first trip to Marrakesh, Morocco where I fell in love with the place,” she writes. “It’s magic. An absolute world away in almost every respect, there is something special in the air there. It is a place I will surely revisit. Through mutual friends, we befriended two very lovely (and handsome!) men who have made Marrakesh their home. They unmasked the city and along with our guide Laetitia, opened its seemingly mysterious doors.” Unlike other celebrities at the event (we’re talking to you, Salma, and you, Aniston) the Oscar winner put together (or at least, her personal assistant did) a very extensive guide to Marrakesh that spotlights at least twelve shopping, dining, and hotel destinations. She’s a prime example of an ideal junketeer. Travel publicists, take note!
