Happening Now: Alexander Wang at Valentino!

The troops are filing into the Halle Freyssinet for Valentino, and one unusual guest has already arrived. Alexander Wang, who is in town for sales appointments, and is being treated like a celeb by the international press. Earlier today, Wang’s name composed one of the two neon signs hanging in the window of multibrand store Joseph–along with Lanvin and Balmain. This isn’t the first time a young American designer has graced Val’s front row–Proenza Schouler designers did so in 2007, prompting speculation that they’d take over the brand. (Nah–they were just minority-owned by Valentino Fashion Group.) Wang brought friend Margherita Missoni to the show, and Alice Dellal is also here dressed head-to-toe Valentino from the collection that is bound to hit the runway…
