Met Chic-Alike, Part Two: Golden Girls

PYTs at the Met last night must have gotten a memo: “The shorter the better–and go for the gold.” How else would Doutzen Kroes (in 3.1 Phillip Lim), Hilary Rhoda (in Thakoon),  and January Jones (in Michael Kors) all have known to wear these spangled little frocks?

    Yes, it happened again on the night of nights! Two women wore the very same awesomely grand Oscar de la Renta dress to The Met Ball. Last night’s twins were Jeff Gordon’s wife Ingrid Vandebosch (right) and Chic Report favorite Julie Macklowe (left).

    Was it just Chic, or did some of the gowns on the carpet at last night’s Costume Institute Gala look a little familiar? We love both Ciara’s Emilio Pucci and Angela Lindvall’s Jil Sander numbers in all their graphic black and white splendor.

    Chanel Iman did not wear the recommended minidress to the Met Gala last night, instead opting for a flowing Zac Posen gown. But she certainly had to go through some hurdles during the cocktail hour! Occupational hazard, we suppose…

  • Donatella Versace had an epic evening at the Met. Not only did she score Jessica Biel, but she also had the likes of Cindy Crawford, Gisele Bundchen, and Blake Lively in her corner–all modeling her sleek blue and turquoise creations.

  • These ladies all had one seat at last night’s Costume Institute Gala, although they’ve probably should have reserved at least deux to accomodate dresses this grande. Heidi Klum wowed in an elaborate creation by Gilles Mendel, Liz Hurley stole the show in Elie Saab, and Kate Beckinsale took up some major real estate in her Marchesa confection.
