Sick? Who Cares? It’s Fashion Week!
“I have bronchitis!” cried Justin Guinta, at the store opening party for Kisan in Soho. It isn’t Fashion Week without a few illnesses though. “I went to the doctor today and she was like, ‘It’s ok just go do your presentation. It’s fine.’ And I was like, ‘No, you don’t understand! There’s a party and an after-party!’ I literally couldn’t speak this morning!” And though he was feeling under the weather, there was huge reason to celebrate, what with his new collection featured in the store. “They let us move our pieces in so why not!” he said.
Boutique owners Thorunn Anspach and Olivier Bremond explained their location choice, saying, “We’ve been all around town for weeks and weeks looking, but we always loved SoHo. We feel very SoHo ourselves.” Their space carries brands including Sonia Rykiel, Moleskin, BonBon children’s clothing and obviously Subversive. “Everything in the store are really our favorite things.” As for their choice of Guinta? “We like that he’s very unique with such special pieces.” Revelers were certainly enjoying his pieces, picking them up and trying them on and one girl almost had to walk away with a new ring, as she stuck it on her finger and had some issues getting it off!
